When I first switched to a plant based diet I really struggled at first.
Believe it or not I didn't know what to eat. You know those people that ask, "But where do you get your protein from?" Yeah....that was me. I also wasn't fully aware of the potential dangers of going plant based if you don't do it correctly. Here's what happened...
I dropped a tonne of weight and not in a good way (mainly muscle mass), I noticed my mood changed more frequently, my energy often felt depleted and my strength plummeted drastically. Now for someone who competes in Strength Athletics you can imagine my horror when I went to the gym and found that I was weak as p*ss!
Weights I'd normally through around like they were nothing became a struggle for me, combine that with low energy levels and BOOM! I wasn't in a good space. That's when I realised two important things...

So I began to do my research, I retrained. I spoke to experts in the field. I tested it on myself, then my nutrition coaching clients. I saw what worked and what didin't work. More importantly I was able to free myself of all the years of coventional nutritional "wisdom" ( I use that term loosely) that had been programmed into my mind. It took me around 8 - 9 months to finally get it right for me. But it doesn't have to be the same for you.
You can avoid the same mistakes that I've made.
