I don't count calories.
Yet I have a healthy relationship to food and walk around at about 10% bodyfat with not much effort. Now that may not be your goal, and that's ok too. But let me tell you something...
The only time I did count calories was as part of a research project for Westminister University on protein patterning. I found it tedious, boring, interrupted with my day to day life, I often forgot to do it as I ate (then had to try and remember everything I ate that day and record it) and it didn't actually change my eating habits all that much.
