It is estimated by the organisation BEAT that in the UK alone more than 7250,00 are affected by an eating disorder. Now these are clinical disorders. But lets get honest for a moment, there are many more of us who, although may not have a clinical eating disorder, exhibit signs of disordered eating.
This affects both men and women.
So what is disordered eating?
Well we can describe it as,
Does this look familiar to you?
Know that you are not alone and remember that your past does not have to equal your future. If you want to find out how you too can transform not only your body but your relationship with food, then check out the details to my Project 12 Transformation Program
This is one of the most incorrectly performed exercises I see by both instructors and gym goers alike.
Take a look at this video.
Notice the hip- hinging movement and relaxed arms and neutral spine.
Power is being generated primarily by the posterior chain.
Afterall its a SWING not a front squat with an arm raise - thats a different exercise.
Great for total body conditioning, coordination, grip strength and even fat loss when programmed right.
This month I will focus on helping you improve your kettlebell technique for fitness gainz every week with Tuesday Training Tips.

So what is good nutrition?
Good nutrition controls energy balance...
While it gives us energy it is much more than fuel.
When we don't have enough energy in the body (or the wrong kind) we just don't function right. Our body begins to shut down processes that we don't absolutely need to survive - such as reproduction, certain aspects of our metabolism, and can impact brain function.
Good nutrition gives us the nutrients we need....
The foods we eat have a calorie density and a nutrient density. Yes we want to make sure we eat the right amound for our needs, and we also want to make sure that the food we eat is loaded with nutrients - otherwise health problems can occur and peformance will suffer.
Remember: A calorie is not just a calorie.
Nutrient diversity matters.
Good Nutrition is about removing limiting factors...
Whether these are genetic, or our relationship to food. Good nutrition will help us leverage our genetic potential, and address any distortions we have around our relationship to food.
Good Nutrition is sustainable for both us and the planet...
Regardless if you eat meat, plant based, vegan or somewhere in between all industrialised farming has an impact on our immediate and wider environment. Good nutrition needs to be sustainable not necessarily for any moral reasons (which is stil valid) but for pragmatic reasons. If it's not sustainable, neither will our immediate future be.
Good Nutrition is outcome based...
Every food choice that you make will lead to an outcome. This outcome can be measured. It is a great feedback tool. No moral judgment attached to it. It simply lets you know if your current nutrition is working for you or not. What changes need to be made (if any) and to continue to do what is already working.
Good Nutrition helps us look, feel and perform our best...
And this is very individual, not everyone wants to look the same. Your experience of what "feeling great" can be is totally different to mine or anyone else, and we all have different interests so performing our best will also differ. One thing that you can be sure of, is that when you have an outcome based approach, you are more likely to achieve better results in this area, no matter what your definition is.
