When it comes to Nutrition (and training too for that matter) the mistake many people make is simply focusing on their goals.
What's the problem with that?
Simply put, when you only focus on the goal, for example,
✔Lose 10% of bodyweight
✔Drop 2 dress sizes
✔Improve my medical condition
✔Beat my PB by 5%
Often we fall into the trap of doing whatever it takes (which can sometimes be harmful to our health) or don't put in the smart work of creating sustainable habits that direct our behaviour long term.
The result is that once we achieve our goal we "fall off the wagon".
We lose or undo our hard work, all our efforts go to waste
I don't know about you, but I think that's just not cool.
But if we focus on creating sustainable habits for life, we get to continually build on our previous achievements, and health becomes a way of life, here and now - rather than some goal far off in the future, which once achieved we let go of.
The key is to establish your foundation habits, then build on them.
