, What if the very thing you were looking for had nothing to do with the path you were on? Now I know this may seem a little cryptic but let me explain.
You see that path in front of you, that path carved out by gurus, industry experts, nutrition officianados other coaches, and apparently spiritually enlightened beings? Yep, that one, well guess what?
It's not your path. It's theirs. Sure this may seem glaringly obvious, but underlying this is one fundamental concept that sometimes espcapes hoardes of people out there
(If I'm honest, I know I used to be guilty of some of this in the past)
You know the type, bouncing from diet to diet with no long term success, floating from one personal development seminar to the next, still having the same problems they had one year, or ten years ago. Fitness Warriors who download the latest training program, follow the newest hard-bodied hot coach off youtube, who suddenly became insta-famous, yet find themselves still in no better shape, or at worst getting needlessly injured. Can you relate?
I cannot give you any commandments. That would be insulting to you, it would be humiliating to you. That would be taking away your integrity, your freedom, your responsibility. No I cannot commit such a criminal act. I can request you, I can invite you, to share with you my experience...It is an invitation, a welcome - but it is not a commendment.
Find your truth. No, I'm not saying ignore the priceless information that is available to you. No, I'm not saying that we cannot learn from other people. That would be plain foolish. Yes you can get useful information from these experts, and so called guru's, just don't expect to follow a cookie -cutter template and get the exact same results.
Your life is not flat-packed furniture. This is not ikea.
These methods often don't take into account your own personal history, your unique biochemistry, your current environment, your physical capacity, your relationship to food, the resources you have available to you, your wants needs, desires, dreams. In short, all the countless variables that make you, you.
Basically what I am saying is this, the moment that you look to others to hand you the truth, you give up your freedom, your integrity and your ability to respond in a way that is right for you.
Their path is not your path. Their way is not your way. You don't have to follow what's already laid out for you. It may seem like a short cut, but often the most effective path is the one that leads inwards.
It's simple, and it may not be easy (which is why not everyone is prepared to do it) but it's certainly worth it.
